General

How is Plate different from other tools?
Plate keeps things simple: no nested complexity, just workspaces, projects, and tasks. It's built for speed and clarity, not configuration.
Can I use Plate solo or is it only for teams?
Both. It works just as well for personal project planning as it does for small and mid-size teams.
Do you support integrations?
Yes. Plate has a public REST API, webhooks, and an MCP server for AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT. See developer docs for details.
Is there a mobile app?
Not currently. You can use Plate in your mobile browser. We may revisit this as the product evolves.
Can I add my logo or customize Plate in any way?
You can upload a logo to personalize your workspace. It will be visible to all members.
Is Plate available in other languages?
Currently, Plate is available only in English.
How can I export my data?
Automatic export is not supported yet. You can request an export by contacting us at hello@plate.to — it may take some time to prepare.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Plate runs in your browser, so you can start using it right away without installing anything.
How do I change my password?
Log out of your account and open the sign-in page. Click "Forgot password?", enter your email, and follow the link we send you to set a new password.

Managing projects

Can I have multiple workspaces?
Yes. You can create and join multiple workspaces. Head to the workspace menu to create a new one.
How should I structure a project and organize tasks?
Keep it simple. Plate uses a straightforward structure: Workspace → Project → Tasks. A workspace can represent a company or a team. Organize work into projects, add tasks, and group them into sections. Sections can be easily moved between projects.
Can I share a project with others?
You can share projects with members of your workspace. Guest access with limited permissions is planned.
Can I transfer tasks between projects or workspaces?
You can move sections with tasks between projects within the same workspace. Moving tasks across workspaces isn't supported.
Is there a way to see activity across projects?
You'll receive notifications in your Inbox for tasks you created or are assigned to. A global activity view across projects is available in the Inbox.
How can I search, filter, and sort tasks?
Search and filtering are in progress. For now, you can sort tasks by dragging them within a section.

Working with people

How can I add people to my workspace?
You can add members from your workspace settings. There's no limit on the number of members. On the Pro plan, billing is based on the number of members, so adding new ones will be reflected in your next invoice.
Owner or Member access?
  1. Owners have full access. They can manage workspace settings, add or remove members, and create and manage all projects and tasks.
  2. Members can work on tasks within projects they are part of. They only see and access the projects they're assigned to.
What happens when I remove someone from a workspace?
They will lose access to the workspace immediately. All projects, tasks, and comments they created will remain. Any tasks assigned to them will stay in place, but you may want to reassign them.

Account & Billing

Can I use Plate for free?
Yes. Plate offers a free plan with some limits on projects, tasks, and features.
Do you offer a trial?
We don't offer trials. You can explore Plate using the free plan.
How is pricing calculated?
Pricing is based on the number of members in your workspace and adjusts as your team grows.
What happens if I cancel my subscription?
Your plan will remain active until the end of the current billing period. After that, your workspace will continue on the free plan.
What payment methods do you support?
We use Stripe for payment processing, which supports most standard payment methods.
Do you offer refunds?
Yes. If our service didn't meet your expectations, contact us at hello@plate.to. Refunds are available within 14 days of the first payment.
How can I transfer a subscription to another user?
To transfer a subscription, assign the new user as an Owner of the workspace. Once done, you can remove Owner access from your account.
Where can I find my invoices?
Invoices are available to workspace owners in Workspace Settings → Billing. We also send an invoice to the account admin after each successful payment.
Can I update billing details after an invoice is issued?
No. Invoices are generated by Stripe and can't be edited after they're issued. Changes to billing details will apply to future invoices.
