What's new in Plate — updates, improvements, and fixes.

Group a project by assignee, label or status

Look at the same project a different way. Above the task list, switch from Sections to Assignee, Label or Status — the list regroups, each heading showing how many tasks are under it. Handy for "who is carrying what" or "what's still in Todo" without leaving the project.

Grouping is a view: dragging, reordering and adding tasks stay in the Sections view, and the label filter still works alongside it. Your project opens on Sections as before.

Labels

Tag tasks with coloured labels and filter a project down to one of them. Add a label from the task window — pick an existing one or type a new name to create it on the spot — and click any label on a task to see just those tasks. Manage the full set in Workspace settings → Labels, where you can rename, recolour and delete them.

Agents and integrations can set labels too: list_labels over MCP, GET /v1/labels over the API, and a labels field when creating or updating a task — by id or just by name.

Global search

Find any task or project in a keystroke. Open search from the sidebar or with ⌘K / Ctrl+K, type a name or number, move through results with the arrow keys, and hit Enter to jump straight there.

Slack Integration

Bring Plate into your channels: get task updates in a channel, create tasks from any message (with its image) or with /plate, and ask the @plate agent about your whole workspace — it can answer and file tasks right in the thread. No setup per person — Plate knows you by your Slack email.

Plate is now in ChatGPT

Plate is an official ChatGPT app. Add it once and manage your projects and tasks right inside ChatGPT — ask for your open tasks, create work, or move things forward, just by chatting.

Meet the Plate agent

Plate now has a built-in AI agent that works as a member of your team. Add it to a project like a teammate, then @mention it in comments for quick answers — or assign it a task and it drafts the work for you and moves it to Review. Turn it on in Workspace settings → Members.

Share projects online

Publish any project to a shareable link — anyone with the link gets a clean, read-only view of its tasks and descriptions, no account needed. Unpublish anytime to revoke access.

Email notifications

Plate now sends email summaries for activity you haven't seen yet — so you never miss an update when you're away from the app.

Performance

We spent serious time on load performance. Smarter data fetching, parallel loading, and better caching — workspaces now open 5× faster.

Figma plugin

Embed Figma frames and artboards directly in task descriptions and comments. Connect your workspace to Figma in Settings → Apps to get started.

MCP Server & Webhooks

Connect any AI assistant — Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, and other MCP-compatible tools — directly to your workspace. Plus: get real-time HTTP notifications when tasks change, no polling required.

Public API

Connect Plate to your tools and workflows. Create and update tasks, manage projects and sections — all through a simple REST API.
